Water
Polo
Suitable for those of a "Beginners Two" or better swimming standard,
these classes aim to teach children the fundamentals of Water Polo. The
children are grouped through age and swimming ability and are taught how to
swim with the ball, pass, shoot, and basic "plays". Most lessons
of course culminate in a small game where the children can put into
practice what they have learned. These classes are an ideal supplement to
swimming lessons as a useful way to build stamina in a fun manner, and also
a good way to keep older children involved in swimming who perhaps feel
they have "outgrown" swimming lessons.
Basketball
Available for children aged 5yrs to 12yrs these classes are organised in
age groups. Like the Water Polo classes, children are taught basic skills
of Basketball-dribbling, passing, shooting, & basic "plays",
again with most lessons culminating in a small game. Through performing
Basketball drills these classes provide benefit and operate at many
different levels, from younger children improving their basic
"hand/eye co-ordination", to older children improving their
fitness as well as learning how to play a team game.
